Billy Bones is the boatswain of the Walrus, sailing under the dreaded Captain Flint. Few crews strike more terror into the hearts of merchantmen, or send such a delicious shiver up the spines of the London and colonial crowds that sing broadside ballads and watch pirates hang.

Billy's a big quiet lad--big shoulders, big arms--with the look of a highly capable fighter and seaman. Which indeed he is. I'm bringing him in initially from a little bit before the opening of Black Sails.
